The Foundation Model is a powerful and versatile approach to the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It builds upon a paradigm in which any general model that is trained using self-supervision can be tailored for a multitude of “downstream” tasks, using large datasets as its base input. With this capability, this model allows a single AI system to have a logically extrapolated understanding of more than one scenario and context that may not share the same primary objective. It can thus offer a distinct advantage to developers by being both utilitarian and efficient in development budgetary allocations.
